>> Installation guide

1.  Insert the microphone jack into the Handsfree unit

2.  Place the microphone in the visor. Hide the microphone cable through a pillar
     Note : make sure the microphone and the cable do not interfere with the safety of the vehicles
                 operation. It is highly recommended to have the front of the microphone directly facing
                 the operator for the best result.

3.  Connect the SJ402A unit into the cigarette lighter where it can be easily operated without
     compromising safety.

>> Pairing your Bluetooth cellular phone with the SJ402A

The  SJ402A supports both Handsfree and headset profiles. The default profile is Handsfree. Follow the pairing instructions for the first use, after that the unit will pair automatically.

Pairing as the handsfree mode

1. When the power is on, press the vol(+) button for 5 seconds.
2. You will hear a beep tone
3. The Handsfree unit is now ready to be paired for the first time.

Pairing as the headset mode

1. The power is on, press the vol(+) button for 5 seconds.
2. You will hear a beep tone
3. After hearing the beep tone repeat step 1.
4. You will hear a second beep tone, which shows the unit is ready to be paired for the
    first time.

Mobile phone manual pairing

1. Browse the mobile phone menu and find the connectivity and / or Bluetooth connection
    section.
2. Select the search for a new Handsfree device and allow the mobile to find the SJ402A.
    Note: each mobile phone has a different phone menu so you may need to refer to your
              manufacturers instructions to find how to connect a new Bluetooth device.
3. The Bluetooth code for the 'SJ402' should appear on your mobile phone screen.
4. Press the conenect button with the handsfree option on your mobile phone.
    Note: please return to the pairing instructions if the Bluetooth code does not appear on the
              mobile phone screen. The green led light should flash during pairing.
5.  The mobile phone should prompt for the pin code. Insert the SJ402A pin code 1234 by
     using the mobile phone pin code.
6.  The mobile phone should confirm that it is establishing a new connection.
7.  Close the menu. The pairing is now complete.
     Note: the green led light illuminates after successful pairing.
               Please adjust the volume to your preference by using the volume keys.

Useful Tips for Bluetooth Connection

    1. Should your cellphone battery be at low charge, the Bluetooth connection
       may occasionally be lost. To maintain good connectivity ensure that your phone
       battery is adequately charged.

    2. In case of failure of Bluetooth pairing 
         1) Delete item in paired list on your Bluetooth phone
         2) Reset both phone and hands free by switching off / on
         3) Reset pairing as per procedure

   3. Connection not established after pairing -> Manually connect from the paired
      phone
        i.e.. My paired devices → SJ402A → Connect

    4. How to establish re-connection after pairing
         -> Press "SEND" button briefly
         -> Press and hold "END" button for 5 seconds
             The hands free unit will re-connect automatically thereafter

>> Using the SJ402A as a Hands Free Device

◆ When the Handsfree is ringing ;
      To accept call                press  TALK  button
       To reject call                  press  END / RESET button
       To end call                      press  END / RESET button
       To control volume           press  VOL+  /  VOL-  button
 
◆ Audio transfer ;
   The audio transfer function is for switching the call from Handsfree to the mobile phone for the
    private  conversation without disconnecting the call.
    Switching from Handsfree to mobile phone : Press and hold TALK button (3 seconds)
    Switching back to Handsfree : Press and hold TALK button (3 seconds)

◆ Call waiting ;
    Double click TALK button connecting to the second call.
    Note: This function works if you have the call waiting option with your carrier and also
              another call is actually waiting to be answered.
      
◆ Last number dialling during idle ;  Press  TALK  button

◆ When the Handsfree is idle ;
    Voice dial : Press and hold TALK button (3 seconds)
    Note: Voice dialling is possible if the mobile phone has the voice dialling function.
    Last number redial : Double click on TALK button.  Announce name after a beep.
    Note: This function works if phone has the last number dialling feature.
 

>> Using the SJ402A as a Headset Device  

◆ When the Handsfree is ringing ;
      To accept call                press  TALK  button

       To end call                      press  END / RESET button
       To control volume          press  VOL+  /  VOL-  button

◆ Audio transfer ;

◆ Private conversation option :
   The end user can activate the private conversation mode by plugging in the earphone jack (not     included) into SJ402A and pressing the Volume up(+) button for 3 seconds activating the     earphone only during the phone conversation. the private conversation mode automatically     deactivates when the phone conversation is ended.

Note: It is unsafe to plug in the earphone to SJ402A or try to activate the private conversation mode
          while driving the automobile. Therefore, the end user should
          park their automobile in the safe place before activating the private conversation mode.
Note: It is highly recommended to plug in the earphone into SJ402A and activate the private
          conversation mode as desired.

>> Installation Microphone

The user can change position of the mike depending on the vehicle type for the best sound quality. It is also highly recommended for user to place correct side of the mike directly facing the user (side with more holes). The user can place the mike either front or back of the visor by detaching, rotating and reattaching mike holder to correct side of the mike.

>> Troubleshooting   

No indication from unit?
There is a chance the unit power adapter is not properly sit in the cigar/utility jack socket so please reinsert the unit into the cigar/utility jack.

Experiencing problem during pairing?
Repeat pairing according to the pairing section

Still experiencing problem?
Please turn off the mobile phone and separate the battery from the mobile phone for about five seconds and then repeat pairing following the pairing instruction. (Sometimes, there could be a bug in the mobile phone that requires to be eliminated before pairing.)

Do not see the green (connection) light after returning to your car with engine on?
This is a normal condition for the Bluetooth handsfree.  The end user can reconnect to SJ402 by pulling out and reinserting SJ402A from the power jack or it will be automatically reconnected when you receive a phone call or pressing the the END / RESET button.

Too loud?
Please adjust the volume to your preferred sound level by pressing the volume switches.

Each mobile phone has a different function button so it could be different operated with your mobile phone according to mobile phones of various kinds.

People are complaining about hearing noise?
Please check if the mike is secured in place not creating vibration and noise.  Also check and adjust front of the mike facing toward to the user’s face.

>> Safety Precautions

- Do not expose this unit under humid environment.
- Do not drop this unit.
- Do not disassemble this unit.
- Do not press two buttons at once. This action might cause sudden Bluetooth disconnection.
- Do not clean the unit with any chemical or water.
- Keep this unit away from fire and dust.
- For safety reasons, please keep your phone conversation short, do not make any notes or read
   documents. It is highly recommended to park the vehicle in the safe place before continuing the
   conversation. Using mobile phone while driving creates a distraction to the drive which  may
   increase the likelihood of an accident.
- Please adjust direction of the portable type unit not interfering with safety of driving. 

>> Warranty

Sungjin Techwin Co., Ltd. warrants to purchaser that for a period of one (1) year after the date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”) of any Sungjin Techwin Co., Ltd. Product by Purchaser, the product will substantially conform to Sungjin Techwin Co., Ltd. published specifications for the product on the date of purchaser’s purchase of the product, subject to the terms herein.
